Scope of work:
Brownfield housing developments require site servicing plans to detail utility connections to the lot and for civil set out. This project
involves the design and documentation of site servicing and civil layout plans for remote infill lot developments across the Northern
Territory to support the Remote Housing Program.
Our Role:
Byrne Consultants have been engaged by the Department of Logistic and Infrastructure (DLI), Developers and construction companies to
provide site servicing and civil layout plans across a number of communities in the NT. Our role has included:
- Project management.
- Collate available site information.
- Undertake site inspections.
- Procurement of survey and geotechnical assessment as required.
- Determine site maximum demand loads.
- Develop PWC approved site servicing plans detailing electrical, water and sewer connections.
- Develop approved septic plans for unsewered lots.
- Develop civil layout plans including earthworks and finished floor levels.
- Develop disabled access compliant continuous paths of travel.
- Liaise with service authorities as required. DLI community projects have included:

- Willowra – 1 Lot
- Lajamanu – 15 Lots
- Maningrida – 12 Lots
- Yirrkala – 1 Lot
- Nhulunbuy – 2 Lots

- Ampilatwaja – 8 Lots
- Wurrumiyanga – 2 lots
- Mutitjulu – 9 lots
Byrne Consultants has also previously provided third party quality assurance services for site servicing plans on behalf of DLI to support
Power and Water Corporation (PWC).
Project Outcomes:
Byrne Consultants has successfully completed a large number of site servicing plans and civil plans for a number of communities across the
NT. Site servicing plans have been approved by PWC. Civil layout plans including earthworks, finished floor levels and disabled access
compliant continuous paths of travel have also been successfully completed.
