Scope of work:

The redevelopment of Richardson Park created a community purpose area. The site is located on Richardson Drive in Ludmilla with an area of six hectares. The new features of the development include:

  • Community purpose area with shared pathways, picnic areas and playgrounds.
  • Rugby league field and a training field.
  • Carparks for community use.
  • Club change rooms, ablutions and spectator areas.
  • Extension of Richardson Drive through Richardson Park to Ludmilla Primary School.

Our Role:

Byrne Consultants led the design of the Richardson Park development and completed the concept, detailed design and construction support services including:

  • Liaison with all Authorities, including road owners, services and DLI.
  • Engineering Survey and service location by potholing.
  • Geotechnical Investigation – road reserve and drainage only.
  • Environmental and cultural heritage considerations including ESCP and asbestos containment cells.
  • Detailed design including approved engineering drawings for roads, stormwater, water, sewer, electrical, street lighting, telecommunications, and landscaping.
  • 3D modelling.
  • Project cost estimates and schedules.
  • Construction contract documentation and specifications.
  • Safety in design assessment.
  • Road safety audit.
  • Environmental and cultural heritage considerations. including ESCP and asbestos containment cells.
  • Construction support services.

Project Outcomes:

Throughout the project, Byrne Consultants showcased their capability to effectively lead a multi-disciplinary engineering and design team, delivering outcomes within tight timeframes. They successfully managed and resolved complex stakeholder conflicts, negotiating optimal solutions for all parties involved. The team also played a key role in transforming a brownfield site into a functional and valuable community-purpose area.
