Scope of work:
The redevelopment of Richardson Park created a community purpose area. The site is located on Richardson Drive in Ludmilla with an area of
six hectares. The new features of the development include:
- Community purpose area with shared pathways, picnic areas and playgrounds.
- Rugby league field and a training field.
- Carparks for community use.
- Club change rooms, ablutions and spectator areas.
- Extension of Richardson Drive through Richardson Park to Ludmilla Primary School.
Our Role:
Byrne Consultants led the design of the Richardson Park development and completed the concept, detailed design and construction support
services including:
- Liaison with all Authorities, including road owners, services and DLI.
- Engineering Survey and service location by potholing.
- Geotechnical Investigation – road reserve and drainage only.
- Environmental and cultural heritage considerations including ESCP and asbestos containment cells.

Detailed design including approved engineering drawings for roads, stormwater, water, sewer, electrical, street lighting,
telecommunications, and landscaping.
- 3D modelling.
- Project cost estimates and schedules.
- Construction contract documentation and specifications.
- Safety in design assessment.
- Road safety audit.
- Environmental and cultural heritage considerations. including ESCP and asbestos containment cells.
- Construction support services.
Project Outcomes:
Throughout the project, Byrne Consultants showcased their capability to effectively lead a multi-disciplinary engineering and design team,
delivering outcomes within tight timeframes. They successfully managed and resolved complex stakeholder conflicts, negotiating optimal
solutions for all parties involved. The team also played a key role in transforming a brownfield site into a functional and valuable
community-purpose area.
