Digital Engineering

Digital Engineering (DE) is a convergence of technologies aimed at improving business, project, and asset management outcomes. It combines Building Information Modelling (BIM), Geographic Information Systems (GIS), and other related systems to promote collaboration and digital processes.

BIM is an integral part of DE, being the process of integrating data and utilising various technologies and information technology platforms to enhance the flow of information. This enables the right people to access the right information at the right time, promoting more productive methods of planning, designing, constructing, operating, and maintaining assets through their lifecycle.

GIS is another essential component of DE, providing a means of integrating and analysing geographical data to gain a comprehensive understanding of assets. With GIS, organisations can visualise, manage, and analyse their data, leading to better decision-making and improved outcomes.

Our DE team members are certified DE professionals through buildingSMART and OperamAcademy and have the capability to manage, create, and deliver BIM and GIS solutions across a wide range of civil and commercial projects.

Our DE Consulting services include:

  • DE Advisory – Understanding clients information requirements and develop strategies for ISO19650 compliant DE implementation.
  • DE Management – Establish BIM/CAD/GIS standards, procedures and protocols including establishing Exchange Information Requirements (EIR) and BIM Execution plans (BEP). Operating as the clients BIM manager to ensure delivery is in compliance with the client’s information and exchange requirements.
  • DE Delivery – creation of virtual digital engineered assets using DE technologies that meet clients needs. This includes 3D spatial coordination, model federation,  as-built BIM modelling, 4D planning & scheduling and GIS solutions.
